Many of you now use AI apps like Claude or ChatGPT throughout the workday. But to ask about your company's finances, you had to look up the numbers in Fintag and copy and paste them over. Not anymore. Starting Thursday, September 17, 2026, Fintag supports MCP (Model Context Protocol). Connect Fintag to the AI app you already use just once, and you can ask questions like "Summarize this month's corporate card spending" and get answers based on your company's real data — without opening Fintag.

- Who can use it: Company admins can use it right away. Members can use it once an admin allows External Connections (MCP) in their role or member settings.
How do I connect?
Menu names vary slightly by app, but the steps are the same.
- Register the server URL above in your AI app's connector (or MCP) settings.
- When your browser opens, log in with your usual Fintag account.
- Review the permissions to grant and click Allow — that's it.
You never enter an API key or password into the AI app. Login always takes place on Fintag's own screen.
Try asking
- "Give me an overview of our company's accounts, cards, and loans"
- "Summarize last month's spending by tag and tell me which category grew the most"
- "Show me the cash flow forecast for the next three months"
- "What loan maturities and card payment dates are coming up next week?"
- "Find the termination terms in the contract I uploaded to the document library"
The information available to AI apps includes asset overviews, transactions and spending summaries, cash flow forecasts, calendar events, document library files, and market indicators — and only the items you allow on the connection screen are used.
A secure connection for your data
- Only your own company's data can be accessed. Other companies' data can never be retrieved under any circumstances.
- Changes such as creating or editing events require an extra confirmation before they run — the AI cannot execute them on its own.
- Sensitive information such as digital certificates and financial institution passwords is excluded, and account and card numbers are masked.
- You can review connected apps and disconnect them at any time in the Agent Settings → External Connections (MCP) tab. Access for that app is revoked immediately upon disconnection.
Please note
- Results delivered to an external AI app are handled under that AI provider's policies. Please choose apps and plans that fit your company's policies.
- AI app answers are generated from the retrieved data, but please double-check the original figures in Fintag before making important financial decisions.
- For app-specific requirements (for example, ChatGPT requires Developer Mode to be enabled on the web), refer to the guide in the External Connections (MCP) tab.

Fintag's data shouldn't stay inside Fintag — it should come to where you already work.
